Nordic forward prices are strengthening on Wednesday morning due to drier and colder weather forecasts and a strong fuels complex, traders said.
The Q2 11 contract last traded at EUR 51.95/MWh at Nasdaq OMX, up EUR 1.75 from Tuesday, while the 2012 contract last changed hands at EUR 46.85/MWh, up 54 cents. "The main reason behind the price rise is colder and drier weather forecasts. Fuel markets have also strengthened in the last couple of days, and this has added support to the Nordic power market,” said a Swedish trader.
