Nordic Market - Climbing even higher

More contracts have reached new heights at Nord Pool this morning on the back of another strong system price and no immediate sign of an improved hydrological situation.
The bellwether Q4-06 contract reached a new record of EUR 62.25/MWh, representing a gain of more than 7 euros over the last month."The trend is very strong. Since prices collapsed in April, they have only gone one way with the corrections ending higher all the time. To see a change in the trend we need a significant altering of the fundamental picture,” says Morten Nilsen at Bergen

Drier forecasts pushed the Nordic forward market to new record levels this morning. “At the moment there are no resistance levels,” one player said, adding that it is therefore very hard to assess the current price levels.
