Nordic Market - Beware of Germany

While the meteorologists continue to provide the market with bull signals, developments in Germany are pulling Nordic power prices in the opposite direction.
Most contracts opened rather strongly this morning on the back of even drier and colder weather forecasts for the next 10 days. Nordic power prices are heading up again on Wednesday after a downward correction yesterday. “As long as the weather stays cold and the spot price continues to increase, no one dares going short,” says a Swedish trader.
