Nordic Market - Area differences will persist

Mild weather and low consumption will push spot prices further down for the weekend. Next week, however, nuclear outages in Sweden and Finland are likely to prevent a collapse in the system price, players said.
The Friday system price of EUR 22.74/MWh was heavily affected by another weak southern Norwegian area price of EUR 13.86/MWh, only six cents higher than the area price on 1 May, which was a public holiday.For tomorrow, spot prices are expected to drop strongly both in Norway and Sweden due to low consumption and heavy inflow. The day-ahead contract at Nord Pool has been traded at EUR 17.
