Colder weather forecasts are lifting the front end contracts on Wednesday morning, while the far end of the curve is following fuel markets.
The front week has gained three euros to EUR 49.50/MWh at the time of writing, while the front quarter is up 86 cents to EUR 44.85/MWh.
"I would still describe the market as soft, but players are a bit anxious ahead of the winter. It was not very cold on Monday and Tuesday, but spot prices still rose considerably,” said Jan Strömbergsson at Skellefteå Kraft in Sweden.
