Nordic Market - Abruptly south

The market has turned abruptly south this morning, due to wetter forecasts and less fear of high spot prices.
– It started to turn down yesterday afternoon after the system price was fixed softer than many had feared. Today the forecasts are wetter, and the market looks quite bearish now, a Norwegian trader said.He believes that the system price will lift a further 2 NOK for tomorrow to around 240 NOK/MWh. But any dramatic lift in the spot, as many may have feared due to the cold temperatu

The forward market dropped quite heavily this morning, but has later recovered to trade more or less on par with yesterday’s closing prices. A Norwegian trader said we are witnessing a small adjustment after the strong bearish movements yesterday.

Prices have elevated this morning due to drier and colder forecasts. An international trader thinks this is just a break in the downtrend, though.
