Monday Market in Brief

(powernews.org) - The Monday market behaved in weird ways and the afternoon got a lift in limbo-land. The system price was much according to expectations at 183.33 NOK/MWh (-3.08), and a Norwegian player argued this afternoon that he saw no particular reason why the forwards, as well as some future contracts, should come up to and above Friday’s levels.
As the technical trend continues pointing south, and there was little fundamental news to trade on today, the forward contracts nevertheless got a small lift during afternoon trading. Market – No more snow business
(powernews.org) - The Tuesday market started off trading somewhat down, but shortly came to a decision to change its course north, as players are reaching an understanding that maybe there won’t be any snow to fill up the reservoirs since exceptionally high temperatures are melting it all away. A Swedish trader argued for a continued price lift this morning, while he maintained that the system price is a weak link at the moment.

(powernews.org) - A rather uneventful Monday morning market was stumbling a few NOKs down during morning hour trading. A Swedish trader was of the opinion that the market is without a strong will as there is little new information to relate to this morning, while a Norwegian trader argued that a lot of precipitation is being delivered, but still not as much as forecast, preventing the bears from playing large.
