Market - Waiting

The Tuesday morning market was sideways and thin, V1-04 trading around the Monday close. A Norwegian trader argued that yesterday was tough enough and that the market this morning took some time to consider what kind of weather is around the next corner. An international trader agreed, and found it very difficult to pinpoint a clear direction.
Awaiting was the working concept this morning, seeing continued dry weather outlooks and a cold next week, but acknowledging the fact that prices have come up a lot lately. Market - A little scary
With continued dry and cold weather outlooks, the morning market was lifted. The market remains sceptic to going long though, but with high German prices in addition to a worsening hydrological balance, a Swedish trader argued that we could now be closing in on a bad bull trend. A trader at a Norwegian production company denied that there is a gigantic upside ahead, but acknowledged that things look a little scary.

With continued dry and cold weather outlooks, the morning market was lifted. The market remains sceptic to going long though, but with high German prices in addition to a worsening hydrological balance, a Swedish trader argued that we could now be closing in on a bad bull trend. A trader at a Norwegian production company denied that there is a gigantic upside ahead, but acknowledged that things look a little scary.

While weather forecasts before the weekend were very dry, the ones presented during the weekend and this morning were no less dry. V1-04 lifted to 349 NOK/MWh and the market is getting less comfortable with the price level, high volatility and low liquidity, questioning the length of the high.
