The week started off sideways to marginally bearish with weather outlooks promising temperatures and precipitation above normal. The Monday system price was stronger than expected, however, and according to a Swedish trader the weekend weather forecast had been a big miss. An international trader said prices ought to drop.
The summer contract traded briefly down below 210 NOK/MWh this morning, but was taken back to 212 NOK/MWh on this first trading day in February. The January system price was more than half price compared to last year, fixed on average at 249.02 NOK/MWh, while last week was fixed at 250.50 NOK/MWh.
