Market - Soaking red

There are no immediate changes to the fundamental situation today as forecasts turn only wetter and milder and producers continue to write down the value on their power. “Spot prices may be down at NOK 400 already tomorrow”, said a Norwegian producer.
All the products are sinking deeper into the red this morning as forecasts remain soaking wet and very mild for this time of the year. The weeks are trying to catch the system price, which plunged NOK 95.92 yesterday to NOK 461.71. The forwards are holding their ground better, but are also markedly down on yesterday when they rose during afternoon trading. Summer 03 is testing its Monday low of

The Nord Pool system price dropped below NOK/MWh 400 for Thursday and is expected to slip even further for Friday. Week 3 has followed below NOK 400 today, and the other weeks are also heading down approaching levels where some thermal plants becomes unprofitable. Summer 03 is currently trading close to yesterday’s closing price of NOK 215.

The Nord Pool system price dropped below NOK/MWh 400 for Thursday and is expected to slip even further for Friday. Week 3 has followed below NOK 400 today, and the other weeks are also heading down approaching levels where some thermal plants becomes unprofitable. Summer 03 is currently trading close to yesterday’s closing price of NOK 215.

Market - Stopping the plunge
Prices continued further down Tuesday morning on a weak spot, warm temperatures and more rain. But eventually most contracts started to head north again, and the blocks and Summer 03 are now trading up from yesterday. A Norwegian producer found the turn natural saying yesterday’s fall was too heavy.
