Market - Raindrops are falling

The Tuesday market was up at open, but changed around quickly, seeing that the weather outlooks were generally not drier than yesterday after all. The entire price curve was brought below yesterday’s close, and a Swedish player argued that when raindrops now have started to fall on players’ heads chances are good that there is more downside to come.
Around 1 TWh was delivered the last 24 hours and prices were taken below the Monday close during the morning session, after players had reconsidered what at first looked more bullish on the weather-front than yesterday. The Swedish player characterized the present situation as the other way around from last year, when prices were going the opposite way.- I think we have seen the start of

The high pressure lurking in today’s weather outlooks lifted prices this morning, taking V2-03 up to 300 NOK/MWh and V1-04 to 310 NOK/MWh. The weather is entirely in control of the movements these days, a trader at a Norwegian production company said, but like another player, his conviction for the future was towards normalcy and in favour of the downside.

The week started off with wet weather outlooks, and prices gapped down at open. V2-03 was back in the 280s but was lifted marginally during thin morning trading. A Swedish trader said the morning drop was triggered by the wetter prognoses alone, while for prices to come even further down the market would have to see precipitation delivered.
