Market - One-off vs new strength

The Tuesday morning market was bullish, seeing that the system price was stronger than expected today and that weather forecasts had become somewhat “normal.” V2-03 was up some 9 NOK, and players said that the uncertainties around the spot have made the market jittery and more difficult to predict.
It is too early to speak of a  trend-change despite today´s considerable lift. The weak night hours seen Sunday and particularly Monday were quickly terminated, however, and the Tuesday spot was fixed well above expectations. The market consequently gapped up several NOK, seeing that area prices were up close to 300 NOK/MWh, as the continental prices are very strong. One question is whether the

The strong spot is the core reason why the market has shown renewed strength, a Norwegian trader said. The Friday morning market was in the same bearish mode that we have seen the entire week, and V2-03 traded down 3 NOK from yesterday’s close. A lot of precipitation has been delivered the last 24 hours and with expectations of a lot more, there’s nothing that can change the trend, players said today.
