Market - No taming of that bull

V1-04 traded up to 380 NOK/MWh this morning, while the front fell a few NOK seeing the weakish Monday system price. The dry end in the weather outlooks made it quite natural that the winter contract continued up, a Swedish player argued, while according to a Norwegian trader prices are generally considered too high, but the resource situation isn’t all that good either.
The week started off bullish and V1-04 gapped up to 280 NOK/MWh, which was not surprising according to the players we spoke with this morning. Market - Oh, mega bull
With possible omega high weather outlooks, the V1-04 contract gapped up to 400 NOK/MWh at open. A Norwegian trader argued that the producers had started to buy back what they sold earlier this year, but that more bullish information would be necessary for prices to lift further. Another Norwegian trader saw no signs of a weather change, and consequently “it won’t stop here, but there will be a battle around the 400 NOK/MWh level.”

With possible omega high weather outlooks, the V1-04 contract gapped up to 400 NOK/MWh at open. A Norwegian trader argued that the producers had started to buy back what they sold earlier this year, but that more bullish information would be necessary for prices to lift further. Another Norwegian trader saw no signs of a weather change, and consequently “it won’t stop here, but there will be a battle around the 400 NOK/MWh level.”

The Friday morning market was significantly calmer than the madness that occurred towards close yesterday. V1-04 traded up to 362 NOK/MWh, however, but turnover this forenoon was thin. A trader at a Swedish production company stated that despite the fact that many believe the market is overpriced, it is very difficult to get prices down now. According to a Norwegian player the mere rumour of a high pressure fills the market with fear.
