Market - No, it isn´t

As the hydroproducers now turn down production during the weekend, the Saturday spot surprised on the upside and was fixed some 5 NOK above Friday at 250.66 NOK/MWh. ”The market is extremely nervous,” a Norwegian trader stated. An international trader underlined that 18TWh is still missing, and this is the real issue, not least for the producers.
We did not have to wait untill after the weekend to have a fairly strong indication of where this is going. The question now is whether the reduced hydroproduction during the weekend will take the Monday system price just above the Saturday level, to some 255 NOK/MWh, or whether the cold will stay put till then and we´ll see it fixed up to or even above 270 NOK/MWh.    ”The produce

Market - Never mind the spot
The Monday morning market ignored the strong system price and went south for diffuse reasons like it is easy to drive the market after it has become this thin and that the psychological sentiment is that you cannot hold on to power when the risk has become this big. Players today express their surprise and confusion, but hold on to the fundamental belief that this is still a good opportunity to buy, despite some more precipitation in the middle of the period. Technically we are moving towards a change of the trend.

Market - That´s it?
The Friday market continued to correct, and dropped another few NOKs as weather forecasts are wetter and milder. To see a change of the big trend, the weather-shift must be confirmed next week, however, and a Norwegian trader argued that the weak resource situation can receive quite a lot of precipitation before we should cancel a high-price scenario this winter.

The Friday market continued to correct, and dropped another few NOKs as weather forecasts are wetter and milder. To see a change of the big trend, the weather-shift must be confirmed next week, however, and a Norwegian trader argued that the weak resource situation can receive quite a lot of precipitation before we should cancel a high-price scenario this winter.
