Market - In the red

The market is trading markedly south on Monday on a weak system price and continuous mild forecast. Next week was last traded below today’s system price at NOK 304.00 while SO-03 is down NOK 5.60 at NOK 235.40. Mild temperatures continue to put pressure on the front-end products, but it remains difficult to predict prices on the forwards ahead as hydro resources are scarce, and there is little precipitation in the south.
Weather forecasts have changed little over the weekend still predicting mild and dry weather over Southern Scandinavia for the next 10 days. Consequently, the market expects consumption to stay low and producers are now competing to sell their power before prices fall even further creating pressure on the system price and the rest of the market, notably the futures. “Prices have be
