Market - In black or white?

The Tuesday morning was Christmassy quiet as it lifted above yesterday’s close, due to drier and cooler weather outlooks. Players said that yesterday’s drop was probably too ardent, but that the last week’s correction has contributed to reduce the black-and-white scenario. Much of the winter is game over, but scenarios ahead are nevertheless what´s on players mind.

Market - Nightmare on El Street over?
The Wednesday morning market moved in unusually normal manners and opened up just a few NOKs, as weather forecasts were similar to yesterday. Some more bullish tendencies were presented towards noon, however, when V1-03 lifted to 483 NOK/MWh. A Norwegian player said that the Christmas spirit now seems to have entered the market, but argued that the outcome after the holidays goes in both directions.

A Swedish trader we spoke with today said that she expected the market to remain much like this until the new year, and that players basically wanted to see the new weather trend confirmed before believing it. A Norwegian trader argued that water is the only thing that will make the season go around.
