Market - Here today and bear tomorrow

The high pressure lurking in today’s weather outlooks lifted prices this morning, taking V2-03 up to 300 NOK/MWh and V1-04 to 310 NOK/MWh. The weather is entirely in control of the movements these days, a trader at a Norwegian production company said, but like another player, his conviction for the future was towards normalcy and in favour of the downside.
While the direction this morning was up, turnover was thin and in a bigger picture the present is quite directionless, the trader argued. V2-03 was quickly removed from the psychological price 300 NOK/MWh, but it is the fundamentals that rule the show.- The weather is entirely in control of the market, and prices are jumping back and forth. A soaking wet EC prognosis took prices down this morning, V2-03 to 283.75 NOK/MWh. Players we spoke with doubted that the contract would break 280 NOK/MWh before the weekend, but agreed that the possibilities on the downside are very good with today’s weather outlooks. One of them said that it was surely delivering from above where he was at this morning. And so it did where the other was.

A soaking wet EC prognosis took prices down this morning, V2-03 to 283.75 NOK/MWh. Players we spoke with doubted that the contract would break 280 NOK/MWh before the weekend, but agreed that the possibilities on the downside are very good with today’s weather outlooks. One of them said that it was surely delivering from above where he was at this morning. And so it did where the other was.

Market - Raindrops are falling
The Tuesday market was up at open, but changed around quickly, seeing that the weather outlooks were generally not drier than yesterday after all. The entire price curve was brought below yesterday’s close, and a Swedish player argued that when raindrops now have started to fall on players’ heads chances are good that there is more downside to come.
