Market - Going for green Christmas

The market couldn’t wait till Monday, and took the V1-04 contract down another level this morning. Weather outlooks remain very wet and mild, and an international trader said that a sense of normality is now spreading in the market.

With the bearish fundamentals intact, the market dropped another level today pushing the winter season down to 313 NOK/MWh. Prices adjusted up later in the morning though and an international trader believed the market had reached a temporary floor.

The wet weather outlooks took the V1-04 contract further down from the weak close yesterday. A Swedish trader argued that prices would continue down form the current 330-level as well, but that players were a little cautious here since today’s very wet EC prognosis quite likely would be less wet tomorrow.
