The bottom may have been reached, players argued this morning, and held the early morning panic triggered by a precipitation surplus to be over, and the V1-03 contract was brought back to bull-life. The current roller coaster market has made many dizzy, however, and the gigantic volatility witnessed has frustrated many, pleased a few and possibly ruined some.
An acknowledged factor today is that the swings lately are unhealthy for the market, but not mortal. An international trader characterized the last week’s developments as a brutal long squeeze, but held that it is still too early to say that this morning’s V1-03 fall to 202 NOK/MWh was the bottom. But in a fundamental perspective, that is a really low price, he argued.
