The week started off with the anticipated gap, and the suddenly very dry EC prognosis took the autumn contract up 14 NOK. Prices fell back a little during thin morning trading, but remained well into the 320s. “The market doesn’t need the upside now,” a Norwegian trader sighed, and was supported by a Swedish, who believed the market was a little ill at the moment, and run by the shaky weather prognoses.
On Friday players expected the market to gap in the one or the other direction today, and so it did. There was not much joy to recognize in the players we spoke with this morning, however, who would have preferred to see prices gap the other way.
