Market - Bearish mix

The front and V2-03 contract opened marginally up, due to slightly drier weather forecasts. A change of mind took place, a gentle downside was introduced, and the autumn contract fell towards yesterday’s low. All in all the morning was a mixed séance, and players we spoke with were not convinced that we have entered the big bear trend.
They nevertheless believed that there is room for some more downside, and that the system price would weaken. Some 0.7-0.8 TWh was delivered the last 24 hours, less than forecast but more than normal. The Friday market was slightly bearish at open, strengthened as players were reorganising their positions, before it fell back with forenoon weather forecasts. Prices have fallen a lot this week, weather outlooks are wet as far as the eye can see, and a Norwegian trader characterized the nearest future as “rotten.” "The next two weeks the upside and the downside have the same potential," NENA said.

The Friday market was slightly bearish at open, strengthened as players were reorganising their positions, before it fell back with forenoon weather forecasts. Prices have fallen a lot this week, weather outlooks are wet as far as the eye can see, and a Norwegian trader characterized the nearest future as “rotten.” "The next two weeks the upside and the downside have the same potential," NENA said.

Market - Testing new lows
The fall continued this morning, as weather outlooks are the same wet and unsettled as yesterday. Some 1.5 TWh was delivered the last 24 hours, and the spot is under pressure. The V2-03 contract traded down towards its next support area at 245 NOK/MWh, and a Swedish portfolio manager believed that the contract should eventually test new lows. An international trader said the drop has been an overreaction, and pointed to both the weak hydrology and the continental prices.
