Market - Bearish fundamentals

The Friday morning market was similar to the three previous days, as it gapped down another level. V2-03 is returning to more familiar landscapes, and players we spoke with this morning believed that the chances are best on the downside next week. “We are moving towards the fundamental levels,” a Norwegian producer said. A trader agreed, but recognized the fear for the upside as well.
Weather forecasts this morning show amounts of precipitation above normal for the period, and prices naturally continued down on the news. Players seem to agree that rain is good thing this summer, but also that it is equally important to be positioned in the right direction. “It’s easy to do strange things under these circumstances,” the Norwegian trader said.

The morning market gapped down for the third consecutive day, seeing that weather forecasts are wetter, triggering stop losses on the way. V2-03 opened weak at 290 NOK/MWh, fell to 287 NOK/MWh, from where the contract lifted back above 290 NOK/MWh.
