Market - Bear, but fear

The afternoon market showed its disappointment with the Friday system price, fixed at 252.93 NOK/MWh (-7.17), and dipped the autumn contract down to 254.50 NOK/MWh. The nearer contracts fell a notch too, but all in all the market unfolded around today’s open.
Although Thursday was not characterized by any groovy events, fear has been placed on next week´s market, a trader said this afternoon.V2-03 turned at 254.50 NOK/MWh and was lifted back to the morning price during the afternoon session. The Friday market was in a bullish mood, and V2-03 lifted some 5 NOK on drier weather outlooks and the expectations of a strong spot next week. A temporary bottom may have been reached, but players don’t seem to believe in a break out of the range yet.

The Thursday market was clearly but hesitantly down from the weak Wednesday close, and V2-03 traded down to 256 NOK/MWh during the morning session. Weather forecasts are wet, the downside predicted the entire week is about to be realized, but interested buyers remain at 256/257 NOK/MWh.
