The week started off with wet weather outlooks, and prices gapped down at open. V2-03 was back in the 280s but was lifted marginally during thin morning trading. A Swedish trader said the morning drop was triggered by the wetter prognoses alone, while for prices to come even further down the market would have to see precipitation delivered.
A Norwegian trader agreed that it was the weather that single-handedly took prices down today, a fall he characterized as quite brutal. The system price Monday was much according to expectations, fixed at 273.38 NOK/MWh, and it was the wet weather outlooks this morning that brought prices down.
