Market - A Trader´s Sense of Snow

The Thursday market opened cautiously on thin trading, while weather forecasts are looking at possibly more precipitation ahead. SO2 traded back forth this morning, while the overall picture today is an unchanged market. An international trader we spoke with this morning argued that the single most interesting issue at the moment is snow, the same discussion that is raised every year.

Market – Summer on drugs
The Friday market opened up on new high pressures, and SO2 reached NOK 134.00 at its morning peak, which is up another 3.50 NOK. The present week’s strong lift is applied to the combination of a strong spot and the dry weather forecasts.

The market started slowing down during morning hour trading after seeing SO2 opening up at NOK 129/130 with high turnover. With unchanged or marginally drier forecasts, a continued lift seemed to be on the agenda, but sellers entered the stage quickly and took it down to NOK 125, before it climbed to the 127s.
