(Heren Energy) - Day-ahead surged more than 3.00 p/th to trade as high as 26.00 p/th at Zeebrugge on Wednesday, amid continued reduced flows to the continent via the Bacton-Zeebrugge Interconnector, following the discovery of pockets of water in the pipeline at the beginning of the week.
The Interconnector returned online on Monday after a two-week shutdown for scheduled maintenance, but flows fell to 10-15% of capacity on Tuesday afternoon, following the incident, as pipeline operator IUK said it would wait for gas quality reports on Wednesday before deciding on whether to undertake pigging operations. Flows were still running at 10-15% by late afternoon on Wednesday Players
