Gas - Volatile Day-ahead contract on Wednesday

(Heren Energy) - The Day-ahead contract at Zeebrugge proved volatile on Wednesday, rising to 19.00 p/th from an early level of 18.20 p/th on the back of uncertainty regarding Thursday ’s scheduled UK-Belgium Interconnector maintenance.
“Experience shows that maintenance often takes longer than the specified duration, ”said one player. Liquidity in the Day-ahead market proved extremely subdued, however, as a result of the uncertainty. Some players were reported to be looking for special deals covering the five-hour period, with at least one P&C deal heard going through. The period settled at 18.40-18.60 p/t

Gas - Day-ahead falls on low demand
(Heren Energy) - Day-ahead continued to fall at Zeebrugge on Tuesday, as contracts came under pressure from an oversupplied system at the NBP, where British pipeline operator Transco was reported to be selling gas in order to rectify a 10 MCM supply overhang.
