(Heren Energy) - Although prompt gas prices began the week by falling through recent support levels of 16.00 p/th, an outage at Brae on Tuesday night and a Transco warning of reduced flows through a southern terminal on Wednesday evening pushed the prompt back up again.
In the UK, despite the initial Brae glitch, which sent Within-day shooting up to 23.75 p/th on the OCM during the night, the system remained balanced to long all week. Looking at healthy linepack figures, some traders were surprised that prompt UK prices had jumped so far. By the end of Thursday’s trading, NBP Day-ahead had reached 18.375 p/th, up 2.25 p/th on last Friday’s closing
