(Heren Energy) - The return of the Bacton-Zeebrugge Interconnector from its annual maintenance outage on schedule gave initial strength to the prompt at the start of the week, but an ongoing problem with water in the pipe weakened the nearside contracts despite continuing uncertainty regarding field outages and offshore rumours.
The return of the Interconnector on Monday, coupled with a weather-induced increase in LDZ demand, saw Transco ’s initial system demand forecast for the day jump by 45 Mm3 compared to the Friday figure.The initial shortness of the system led Transco to buy, pushing the Within-day contract up to 18.50 p/th compared with Friday ’s Day-ahead close of 16.925 p/th.The Within-day contract
