Commodities - Yes, it could go even higher

With a view strictly limited to the commodities market, only one word can accurately summarize last week’s developments: BULL. From Friday to Friday, settlement to settlement, markets are up arcoss all fuels and CO2 as well.
- Oil is up around one dollar, with new highs registered over the week- Coal is up more than a dollar- Gas curve higher with new records- CO2 is up around three eurosIn a little more detail, August Brent settlement prices moved from USD 57.54/barrel on 1 July to 58.20 on 8 July, with a week high settlemt of 59.85 on Wednesday, and a nominal high of 60.70 on Thursday.On

Oil, carbon and TTF gas started subdued into the new trading week but remained on firm price levels. In contrast, Zeebrugge gas as well as coal forwards on the API#2 curve maintained their recent upward movements.

Commodity markets were markedly affected by the London blast on late Thursday morning. At IPE, intraday moves were relatively strong with August Brent plunging by over 5 dollar, before recovering to above the 59 dollar mark. Gas and coal firmed to higher values at the end of yesterday’s trading session.

Commodity markets were markedly affected by the London blast on late Thursday morning. At IPE, intraday moves were relatively strong with August Brent plunging by over 5 dollar, before recovering to above the 59 dollar mark. Gas and coal firmed to higher values at the end of yesterday’s trading session.
