Crude oil climbed back above the USD 70 mark last week amid warnings of active hurricane season. While easing a touch on Friday, the benchmark carbon contract gained over the week to close at EUR 18.70/tonne.
The Nymex WTI ended marginally up on Friday at USD 71.37/bbl, after trading in a range of more than a dollar with the intraday high being at 71.90/bbl. Also in London, the Brent front closed sideways, with Friday’s fix being only 12 cents down from Thursday at USD 70.59/bbl. The Brent traded between 70.19 and 71.21 on Friday.
