After opening strongly yesterday, oil prices eventually settled almost three dollars lower than on Monday. Meanwhile, coal prices edged upward while the picture was more mixed for gas.
Brent crude for July peaked at USD 137.74/barrel yesterday after the International Energy Agency warned of lower supply growth in non-Opec countries. However, prices turned down later in the evening amid a stronger US dollar and reports of falling consumption in the industrialised world.
