Oil prices are extending Friday's gains as better than expected US economic data - with new home sales up 27% in March - has boosted recovery hopes, said players on Monday.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 87.55/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 0.30 on Friday's close.
On Friday, the Brent June contract rose USD 1.58 settling at USD 87.25/bbl, while in New York the WTI front month gained USD 1.42 to close at 85.12/bbl.
