Fuel prices are still northbound, with the largest gains seen in the paper coal market.
Coal prices are surging to new heights, and the API2 Q4-08 contract has risen more than 30 dollars since the beginning of last week. Yesterday, it gained as much as 7.25 dollars to settle at a midprice of USD 224.50/tonne. Q1-09 rose 6.65 dollars to USD 221.50/tonne. The year 2009 contract was lifted seven dollars to end the day at a midprice of USD 218/tonne, which is an increase of 27 dollars
