UK gas prices rose strongly Wednesday on the back of concerns that a Norwegian gas pipeline could be shut all winter.
StatoilHydro reported yesterday that a small gas leakage had been found on the pipeline between Kollsnes in western Norway and the Kvitebjørn gas field in the North Sea, and that the pipeline could be out until the spring.The Kvitebjørn field produces 7.4 billion cubic metres of gas a year, roughly 8 per cent of annual UK consumption, and the news were said to have a strong bullish impac
