Oil prices rose by over two dollars yesterday, on the back of cold US weather forecasts and news that the US will double its emergency stockpiles.
The front month contract on Nymex was range bound between 52.41 and 55.15, before settling at USD 55.04 a barrel, up 2.46 day on day. The corresponding contract on theLondon based ICE traded similarly with the lowest trade at 52.59 and highest at 55.18, ending the day up 2.40 at 55.10.
