Commodities - Strong oil and carbon

The carbon and oil markets are showing strength, while coal and gas prices eased off yesterday.
Carbon prices firmed yesterday on the back of technical buying when the 2008 contract broke through Wednesday’s top of EUR 17.15/tonne. The contract was traded as high as EUR 17.45/tonne yesterday afternoon, up 45 cents day on day. This is the highest close since 30 March.Meanwhile, the December 2007 allowance ended more or less unchanged at EUR 0.80/tonne.Around 2.77 millio
