Crude oil prices were lifted almost five dollars yesterday on a surprising US inventory report. Coal and gas prices also rose yesterday.
The front month WTI contract settled at USD 105.90/barrel, up 4.68 day on day. Meanwhile in London, Brent for May gained 3.39 to settle at USD 103.99/barrel. Refinery utilisation in the US fell by 1.6 percentage points to 82.2 per cent, which is the lowest level since hurricanes Katrina and Rita caused damage to refineries in October 2005.
