Crude oil markets relaxed after signs that Ernesto would not hit key platforms on the Gulf of Mexico. Coal headed north on Friday, while UK gas prices ended mixed.
Concerns over the tropical storm Ernesto triggered volatility in crude oil prices on Friday. At one time the Brent front month was trading above the USD 74 level, while the corresponding Nymex WTI deal touched 73.75/bbl. However, both markets closed sideways.
