Fears of a recession made oil prices in New York fall close to a five-week low on Monday, sending bearish signals to all other commodities and carbon markets.
On Nymex, the WTI crude oil contract for delivery in March lost USD 1.87 day on day after having peaked at USD 90.29, settling at USD 88.05 a barrel. The corresponding contract in London ended the day more than two dollars below the opening price, closing at USD 87.51 (-1.72).
