High volatility was a common denominator for all commodity markets on Thursday. In the end, oil prices settled slightly higher than the previous day, coal recovered and gas prices fell across the curve.
In London, the Brent crude oil contract for delivery in September ended the day USD 1.15 higher than the previous close at USD 126.44 after having oscillated within a EUR 124.10-127.25 range earlier in the session. Large volatility was also seen in the WT September contract at Nymex, which climbed USD 1.05 to USD 125.49/bbl on Thursday after having peaked at USD 126.44/bbl. Concern
