While colder weather forecasts continued to drive up power and oil prices on Tuesday, the soft sentiment continued for gas and carbon.
Carbon prices for the first phase hit yet another low on Tuesday. The December 2007 contract fell from Monday’s close of 1.80 to EUR 1.50. “There is no support any longer, in spite of colder weather forecasts for Europe,” says Kjersti Ulset at Point Carbon. However, there is still some uncertainty in the contract with regard to the emission verification this spring. &
