Oil prices are trading below USD 44/bbl on Tuesday morning as the global economic picture remains bleak and there are no signs of demand picking up, players said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 43.83/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 0.55 on Monday's close.
"Energy prices were weak on Monday in muted US [Presidents' Day] holiday trading,” said Stephen Schork at Energy Market Intelligence.
