Oil prices are trading sideways on Thursday as the market awaits weekly inventory data to be published by the US Department of Energy in the afternoon.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 78.01/bbl, up 6 cents on the previous day.
On Wednesday, the contract closed 45 cents higher day on day at USD 77.95/bbl, while the WTI contract for light sweet crude oil closed 23 cents higher at USD 79.28/bbl.
