Crude oil prices rebounded in London and New York on Thursday after US and Iraqi forces launched a major air assault on insurgents in Iraq. Gas prices also firmed, while carbon and coal softened.
On the New York exchange, April West Texas Intermediate surged USD 1.41 to settle at USD 63.58 a barrel, as a result of supply concerns following the assault in Iraq.IPE Brent for April fell to an intraday low of USD 62.15 a barrel on rising US oil inventories, but settled at USD 62.91, down 3 cents from Wednesday.
