Oil prices are softening on Thursday morning after seeing new year highs in the previous session as the weaker dollar continues to drive the markets, said players.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 79.50/bbl on the ICE platform, down USD 0.19 on Wednesday's close.
On Nymex, the WTI December contract was last seen at USD 81.01/bbl, down USD 0.36 on Wednesday, when it jumped USD 2.25 to settle at USD 81.37/bbl.
