Brent oil prices for August edged close to USD 140/barrel Monday, but eased off later in the session to end the day below Friday's close.
On the Ice exchange in London, the August contract opened the session at USD 134.79/bbl before hitting an all-time high of USD 139.32/bbl later on. The contract closed at USD 134.71/bbl, some 40 cents below the previous close. It weakened further early Tuesday, with a trade seen at USD 134.40/bbl at the time of writing.
