Oil prices are rising on Tuesday morning following a strong finish in the previous session with rebel attacks in Nigeria used as an "excuse” for end of quarter buying, players said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 72.66/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 1.67 on the previous close. In New York, the WTI August contract last traded up USD 1.52 at USD 73.01/bbl.
On Monday, the Brent contract ended the day up USD 2.07 at USD 70.99/bbl after having traded in a USD 68.10-71.42/bbl range, while the WTI
