Crude oil fell to a 19-month low yesterday, but prices have strengthened again Friday morning. Other commodity markets saw mainly gains on Thursday.
Oil prices continued sliding yesterday with the New York traded February contract falling USD 2.14 to USD 51.88 a barrel. This is the lowest close since 27 May 2005, and prices are down 15 per cent so far this year.The pressure on Opec to act to maintain oil above the 50 mark is growing.
