The price of oil plunged yesterday as unseasonably mild weather curbs demand.
The front month contract at Nymex dropped 2.73 to settle at USD 58.32/barrel yesterday while the corresponding Brent contract in London dropped 2.48 to 57.96. A major reason for the decline was a report from the US national weather service, saying that the warm weather in the US northeast would lead to a 33 per cent reduction in demand for oil in the week to 6 January, Reuters reports.
